I have an HP 8130 US DV7 loaded HP laptop that's almost 2 years old and I
would buy another one in a second. My wife has an HP as well. It's also
fairly loaded but only has an I5 processor and no Blue Ray but a bigger hard
drive as well as 6 gigs of Ram. She also loves hers. It has great sound
and from a low partial I can see that it has pretty good HD video as well.
She has had hers for a year almost and it runs great.
The only nit picky thing I have with HP laptops is the HP assistant is not
speech friendly. It is an awesome tool and saved my butt more than once
because I used Magic by Freedom Scientific and saw the warnings. However,
it is useless with Jaws even the new convenient OCR which is not a weakness
of Jaws but just the way things are.
I had my wife leave it in even though she is a Jaws user because if it does
run then she can have me tandom in with Jaws and Magic and take a look. In
my case I once had a crappy anti virus program turn off my system restore
twice and the HP Assistant let me know or I would have not known to turn it
back on. And once system restore saved me big time.

I am seeking a general answer to my question here; could someone out there
speak to the reliability of Hulit/Packard computers as they compare to other
brands. I have a chance to buy a lap/top and I was just wondering how the
