Because I use mine to scan textbooks, I go with a business scanner that cost me just over $900 US. However their lower cost scanners work well for normal day to day scanning. Also, if one installs the full scanner software it normally comes with a OCR program called HP document scan. This is what I use to scan my textbooks for class.
