Hi Gerald, Perhaps it's prompting you to run a full scan. Just a thought. I haven't encountered this situation, since I run a full scan every time. Happy Lincoln's Birthday, listers. I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials on my XP Pro machine for over two years. This morning, when I checked my System Tray, the MSE icon read "Computer Potentially Unprotected". So I checked the MSE Home tab using the JAWS cursor and noticed a message claiming that I had not run a scan in a while and hence my computer might be at risk. But scrolling down to the bottom of the page, there was another message confirming that a quick scan had indeed been performed yesterday at about 11:00AM, as it is every day, because I have MSE set to perform a quick scan on a daily basis. Any idea why MSE would issue a message that I haven't performed a scan in a while, when, in fact, I performed a scan yesterday? This doesn't make any sense. My malware definitions are up to date according to the information on the Update tab. Thanks for any feedback.
