Hi Brad,

Glad to hear all seems fine. Hopefully we'll get others sharing their experience, but if you ask me, running Malwarebytes in real time is essential in our day and time. For this you will need the pro version of MB. I have it installed my laptop, and I don't feel a bit of loss of performance, but I do feel very protected in that MB Pro has warned me about bad websites when I've accidentally navigated to here and there. I just checked and on Amazon.com you can buy a full lifetime license of Malwarebytes Pro for $18. At times it is on sale for $15,but $18 is not all that much for such great protection. It is also very, very accessible with Jaws.

Madison and all,

Thanks for your experience. One more question and
then I'll leave y'all alone haha.

Two actually . With Malware Bytes, are you
running the free version as well? And secondly,
are you running just a scan with it or is it
running real-time, all the time in the background?

Brad
Thanks.

HI Brad!

Oh my God, we too lost everything relying only on the Eset Nod32. We have since switched now about a year ago, and we could not be happier. But to answer your question, MSE and Windows7 work in great harmony to provide the user with a strong firewall. Since I switched to MSE2.0 and Malwarebytes, I have been virus free and feel very, very safe.

One after thought. Do you think Windows Firewall
and whatever my Cisco router offers is enough for
a firewall? Or are we looking at a 3rd party application for that too?

Rick,

I hear what you are saying. I was thinking MSE
in conjunction with a frequent Malware Bytes scan
would work. I learned my lesson on only one
method of protection when I ran just the Eset
suite and manage to catch a virus that pretty
much took out my aged computer. I've heard good
things on MSE so I'm feeling pretty good about it
but wanted to check here as some are obviously using it. Thanks.
