If he really wants to use the computer, a simpler program to use is MP3 Direct Cut. It is also free and will record directly in MP3. It is much easier to operate than Audacity. If he just wants to play, record and listen, and does not need sound effects or sound processing, it is a simpler solution.

Hello there;
Actually, I did suggest he consider a digital recorder such as, the Olympus.
He could record the guitar lesson while home, and then transfer the file to
his computer, and then practice along with the audio through the computer.

However, I did indicate to him, I would look around for him.

For that purpose, he is probably better off with a small portable MP3 player
that he can operate easily, put in his pocket, and take around anywhere.

Good morning all;
Well, I've just started working with a new client who is a musician
he's a drummer, however, he has an interest in taking guitar lessons.
Would this audacity program allow him to record his lessons, so he
could follow along in his practice sessions?
If so, where could I find some keystrokes/instructions.
I'm looking for a simple program for my client to use.
Something like,
R=record,
S=stop,
P=play/pause.
