alrighty. I just use WMP seems to do what I need it to do pretty well.

Sound Recorder in Win7 is pretty straight-up, as far as recording goes,
but you are stuck with the .wma format.

Hello there;
Actually, I did suggest he consider a digital recorder such as, the Olympus.
He could record the guitar lesson while home, and then transfer the file to
his computer, and then practice along with the audio through the computer.

However, I did indicate to him, I would look around for him.

For that purpose, he is probably better off with a small portable MP3 player
that he can operate easily, put in his pocket,  and take around anywhere.
