In some cases, and I haven't been able to figure out which instances cause
this to happen, while pressing enter on a podcast link will usually result
in the podcast playing right away, when I go to right click on it, or press
the applications key, there's no sign that I entered on the link at all, and
it only gives me context options for the page rather than the link.

I've found the easiest way to do this is to arrow one line just above the
link for the podcast, then tab to the link.

Once the screen reader lands on the link for the podcast, I press the
applications key, arrow down to save target as... or press the letter "A"
and the standard save as dialog box pops up where I can save the podcast
where I wish to save it for later listening.

This is also the case when someone sends me a DropBox link in an e-mail
message. If the link is for an MP3 file, I can't enter on the link, as the
file will start playing right away, and so I have to tab to it, and press
the applications key, and do what I said above.

If the link happens to be after other links within the message, I find I
can't do it the way I outlined above, and a subsequent tab lands me on the
folder link, as I read my messages using the preview pane.

What I end up doing is just arrowing down to just before the link, then
pressing the tab key to land on the link, at which point, I can use my
applications key to save target as.

Just thought I would offer this up here as an alternative when the mouse
cursor doesn't happen to be placed over the link in question.
