If it came with IE 9 already installed my information is that you're not
going to be able to roll it back to IE 8. Sorry to tell you that as the
saying goes.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] IE 9 came on computer but I want IE 8

I got a new Dell Win 7 laptop recently and it came with IE 9. On my
previous laptop I have constantly rolled it back to IE 8 which is a royal
pain but can be done. But on the new one there was not an IE 8 to roll back
to. When I searched on the Microsoft site it said there was IE 8 for XP but
I did not see one for Windows 7. I am using Jaws 11.
Since I still have the old laptop I have compared the same websites on both
IE 8 and 9 and 8 has more clickable links.
Can anyone tell me how to get to IE 8? How to remove the IE 9 and replace it
with 8? Where to find the Win 7 version of IE 8 to download?
And last but not least, how can I keep it from constantly installing IE 9
every week?
I have been through the windows updates but can’t find any place to click to
prevent the IE 9 from re-installing itself.
I thought I could live with IE 9 but with Jaws 11 it is almost impossible.
Another very bothersome problem with the IE 9 is that when I go down the
page line by line looking for something specific it says blank about 10
times or more before getting to the next element. I do use the n or p or
control down arrow but I am afraid it often skips over the specific thing I
am looking for.
So any help would be gratefully appreciated.
