No problem, Mike. I have an HP laptop and at first, I kept accidentally hitting the Synaptics Pointing Device and sending myself off into lala land. So I asked for and received instructions from HP in turning it off.

In most cases, the "Enable/Disable" function can be found under either the Hardware Tab or the Drivers tab. This will be a fairly common occurrence since Windows 7 is the supporting operating system. There may be some minor variations which are brand related but this process should work for you. .
