Hi Mike,

Thanks for the excellent information on how to use CHKDSK. I did not find any bad sectors in the verification run, but CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the
master file table (MFT) bitmap.
CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the volume bitmap.
Windows found problems with the file system. Run CHKDSK with the /F (fix) option to correct these.

With this information from the verification run, I am wondering if it is necessary to run CHKDSK when there are no bad sectors? I have to give it more thought.

As for the hibernation problem, I really did nothing with it. Since I have two profiles, one corrupted and the good one working fine, I manage to find a way to bring my computer out of hibernation for now. I will have to delete my corrupted profile as soon as I am positivity sure that I don't need any data from it anymore.

Again, thanks for the CHKDSK procedure.

Take care.

Go Nats!

Lennie

Hi Again Lennie,

I for got to ask you in my last message if you ever got your hibernation
problem fixed, & if so, how did you get it done?

Take care.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] How to use CHKDSK

  Hi,

I ran CHKDSK to check my hard drive and the results have found some
disk errors that need to be fixed. It suggested that I run it again
using the parameter /F. However, When do I start CHKDSK? I thought
that there was some talk about starting CHKDSK and restart the
computer? Is this the right procedure? What happens when the computer
starts? I really need some help with this and any suggestions will
  greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

  Lennie
