I've always been lead to think, some of these updates can affect the performance of Jaws, so usually don't update.

Is it new updates or new version? Also, since I use a wireless keyboard, there's an update for it and the wireless mouse as well. Is this necessary to update? This is on a Window's 7 laptop.
