Unfortunately, the use of image captcha is so widespread and firmly
entrenched, that it will probably never be completely replaced with a more
blind-friendly alternative. You can whine all you want about the unfairness
of being charged for a service that sighted folks take for granted, but in
the end, you will still have to solve captchas on many sites in order to
register or create an account. So unless you use Webvisum with Firefox,
which doesn't always work, or pay for a service like ZCaptcha, you will need
sighted help to solve captchas. That's just the way it is. Get over it.

Merv, completely agree with you here! There's enough stuff that we as
blind
people have to pay extra for already without adding capchas to the list.
Cheers

ComputerUsers
I'll probably get a lot of people upset for saying this but until last
year
I was a high partial. I used to solve captias for a lot of my totally
blind
wife's friends for free when I could see to do it because I thought anyone
who charged per captia was taking advantage of blind people. Now that I
can
bareley see to do the captia myself I feel even more strongly that we
should
not have to pay per captia for a service that should be accessible anyway.
Captia is a load of crap and there should be a better, more accessible
alternative for securing web sites or whatever people are using captia to
secure. I realize this is just my opinion and I am stating it as just my
opinion.
