I don't know what the Elias engine is supposed to do, but I don't think it's really necessary for audio games. It's either that or Philip gave people a newer private version of BGT that dropped Windows XP support. It's funny how I used to cling to XP because some games wouldn't run properly under Windows Vista and newer. Now I'm finding the opposite is true. > On Oct 24, 2017, at 11:07 AM, Justin Jones <[email protected]> wrote: > > Once I got used to it, I am happy with Windows 10. > > On 10/24/17, dark <[email protected]> wrote: >> I can say as someone who used Xp for probably longer than I should have >> done, I am not disappointed with Windows 10, which is odd because I was less >> keen on windows 7 :D. >> >> Still with classic shell to get the xp style start menu and C cleaner to >> remove the stuff I didn’t want (something I had to equally do with new xp >> machines back in the day), I really haven’t had to alter what I do too much, >> accept now I can enjoy all available audiogames, indeed I suspect for gaming >> purposes these days there are probably more games that won’t run on xp than >> on windows 10. >> >> My only major regret with lack of Xp are the dos style console games like >> Fallthru, eamon deluxe etc, and I have heard there are now talking versions >> of Dosbox that can go some way to solving those, indeed I do hope the eamon >> deluxe developer gets back to me at some point in the future since we >> finally might have that accessible cross platform version of the games we’ve >> been wanting for years. >> >> All the best, >> >> Dark. >> Sent from Mail for Windows 10 >> >> From: Liam Erven >> Sent: 24 October 2017 16:09 >> To: [email protected] >> Subject: Re: [blind-gamers] psycho strike >> >> I can totally respect that, but please understand that developers don’t want >> to support an out of date operating system. >> XP support is long over, so at least from my perspective I don’t feel >> obligated to still support it. >> >> >> Sent from Mail for Windows 10 >> >> From: john >> Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2017 10:03 AM >> To: [email protected] >> Subject: Re: [blind-gamers] psycho strike >> >> Hi Justin, >> In my case at least, its more a situation of having xp machines in addition >> to newer systems, and wanting to use them for offline >> things like audiogames. >> >> >> >> -------------------------------------------------- >> From: "Justin Jones" <[email protected]> >> Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2017 8:48 >> To: <[email protected]> >> Subject: Re: [blind-gamers] psycho strike >> >> Simple solution: don't run Windows XP and update to Windows 7-if for >> no other reason than XP has security issues that Microsoft will not >> address, owing to them no longer supporting that particular operating >> system. >> >> On 10/24/17, dark <[email protected]> wrote: >>> Hi John. >>> >>> In fairness to Vgstorm, they never actually claimed that their games ran >>> on >>> Xp.
