Some of your issues, at least, sound like JFW's keyhook is causing problems. Are there alternative menu navigation keys? Jaws is very well known for breaking the arrows in games.

If I press enter though dialogues do get read by jaws, if I press alt and o and go through the various output options I do get a message of something like jaws output through tolks. I have written to the company for support but have received no response, is this just them being busy or are they no longer in business as a company? and any ideas about fixing the jaws issue? is it just that the game needs an update or something?
