I think you are wrong with JavaScript.
5 years ago or even only 3, I would have said that you were right.
However, in the last few years, JavaScript has enormously improved.
Async and promise-based programming, the strong tendance to
uniformization across browsers (if you exclude IE), new HTML5 API (for
audio, movement sensors and more),... all that make JavaScript much more
enjoyable and powerful.
The clinky JavaScript is the one of the early 2000s. Nowadays it's gone.
Sadly, the legendary supoosed clinkiness of JavaScript will still stay a
long time in mind, as the supposed slowness of Java.
