The Hadley school for the blind, under a new name that I cannot remember right
now, offers 2 chess courses. One is for beginners, and comes with a chess set
you can use. After you pass this 6 lesson course, you can move on to the
advanced course that teaches tactics and strategies. Both are very good.
Another good source, if you can find them, are people who play the game. You
can gain over the board experience that way. If you cannot find chess players,
and you have an iDevice, you can get a couple of chess apps for very little
money that are Voice-Over friendly. The one that plays the stronger game is
Shredder Chess. The other, whici is no slouch, is Chess-Wise Pro.

HTH.

If you think you're finished, you! really! are! finished!!

Subject: [blind-gamers] playing chess

Hi All, Good Evening!!!

Does anyone have any good resources that I could use to learn how to play
chess? I am wanting to learn. A friend gave me a accessible physical chess
game board, and I just can’t remember how to play.

Any good resources would be really welcome.

Best,

Juan
