Did you read all the way through the manual?
I seem to remember there are options you can set to auto scroll the
dialog, as well as skip scenes entirely if you've already heard them or
whatever.
One thing I would love to see, at least with tamer battles, is the
ability to choose which manamon(s) get sent out to start, so you don't
have to waste a turn switching. If you already know what they're going
to send, you can adjust your party accordingly, but if not you could get
screwed when the first one comes out.

There's also no way I can see of skipping long passages of text if
