There's also the opensource dos project called freedos, and you can find

I also believe that paragon still sells their PTS DOS system. I bought
my copy years ago, so I don't know if it's still up for sale on their
site, but is still listed in my downloads when I go to my purchases.

I don't see the PTS DOS listed anywhere on their site, but as I said,
It's still in my purchased software, and I can (and have) download
copies of it, including source code, so perhaps if you send them an
email and ask about it, they will be willing to sell you a copy.
PTS DOS2K is a (as the name says) 2K compatible version of dos, that
comes with source code, and is supposed to be 100 percent MSDOS
compatible. I did find 1 edge case where it did not work with a dos
program that used extended memory as system memory, but that's not a
surprise, since it didn't work with opendos either. Everything else I
used it for over the years has worked just fine.
(just for reference, opendos is the DRDOS version that was released as
opensource when the company was named caldera, which was identical to
their caldera dos product.
I have that too, though I've not been able to find it as opensource
anymore, I do have the originals, so no issues there. :)
Come to think of it, since it was released as opensource, I should be
able to upload those disks for download by others. Not the PTS DOS
though, that isn't opensource, but it is cool to have source code to dos
though.

You will need a copy of com0com , and allow the com ports through its

After you do that then in theory you can do that.
If you don't want to bother with dosbox, get a system you don't care
for and do a reformat and install windows any version 32 bit.

like windows xp or something for gaming if you want.
If you are adventurous, you can run linux with dosbox via ssh or old

Finally, if you have the means, you can get oldgames.7z from there
which is the backup of my now dead keynote gold 1850 3386sx toshiba.
In there are images of dos 6.22, keysnoft and mastertouch.
Those are useless unless you have a gold synth and you can't get those
anymore so its all historical now.
But if you can get dos 6.22 and using rawwritewin and put it on 3.5
inch floppies then you could run it.
I am not sure where you can get this but there is a released version
of dos 7.1, the last os release from microsoft.
Microsoft doesn't officially support it but it was just let out there.
Its not anything like dos 6, its heavily stripped down but does
support 32 bit and more than 8 char filenames as well as fat32 file
system.
If you want an official dos version drdos still exists but you will
have to spend 30 bucks.
The easiest solution is dosbox if you put a little work into it,
followed by linux.
A 32 bit os is fine if you have a system or can get a system with
little memmory but whatever.
