True, however I am unsure how updated freedos is.
At any rate, unless you have a serial synth, or a computer supporting
it, and you will need both, freedos, drdos, prehistoric dos 6.22, or
dos7.1 will not be available to you.
Neither will vms of dos.
Dosbox is free or use linux is probably most updated right now though
talking dosbox has not had updates in ages.
Over that, if you have a 32 bit windows addition you can get that.
Price wize, I wouldn't spend the cash on 32 bit win10 since you can
only get this with the 32-64 retail flash stick which costs 300nz or
there abouts.
You could buy a key I guess, and use a 32 bit iso on it if you want.
The good news is that a lot of people at least locally here in new
zealand on sites like trademe are porning off their legal windows 7
and 8 disks for next to nothing so you can upgrade them to win10.
If you can get an xp disk that could help to.
Failing all that, you could get a win98 or lower distribution and any
key would do then.
However, no nvda below win2k I don't think.
Xp is the oldest you can go so 7 is probably the best if thats what you want.
Also the win98 and lower dos terminals really were not the best as
they put out a lot more info than one would like.
I guess if you never needed sound you could run jaws for dos or
flipper inside the emulator, but the best screen access you will get
on dosbox is asap and you will need com0com for that.
To be honest, what we really need in the emulators now is a full coppy
of windoweyes for the win 3.1 os so that I can run silent steel
without windoweyes going into demo mode.
On that note, what the heck happened to windowbridge.
That was almost like the older readers, it was free but for what it
was I would have gladly spent cash on it.
