The first thing you should do is plug it in using the USB-C cable that comes with it or one you already have, they send them out with a low charge on the battery, so it will need charging when you get it. They said it takes a couple of hours to give it a full charge. After that the battery should last a week or more depending on how much you use it. Lee says the battery is huge for this type of application so a charge lasts a good long while.
