Hi, Niko.

Surround sound isn't something you really turn on or off. You can set your
speaker configuration in the control panel. I routinely blared lots of
things through our house while I was growing up. *grin* But, then again,
you'd never find me playing games wearing headphones. It'd be like a total
A.M. experience!

Hi, two things, first, when I went to the sight and clicked download, it
said that Firefox couldn't find the server.
ALso, I'm not to for the suround sound deal. Its a good feature but it
should have the ability to be turned off. Face it, if you live with your
parents, they don't want to hear that blaring through the house. You should
also be able to use headphones.
But I am all for the mouse. Its much better and people are afraid because
they've never seen a mouse before? Hmm, I think we need to try new things
and this is definitely a faster method of navigation.

Hi, Kevin.
Seeing as I am also a developer I know that the ITT market almost
always targets the medium to high range PCs, and leaves lower end PCs in
the dust. There are several reasons for doing so, but the short answer
is that when the product is done we expect that computers will have been
upgraded, or those buying new PCs will be already getting the system
requirements.
Sometimes the system requirements are a inexpensive upgrade like a
better sound card and speakers. I know for example the Soundblaster Live
can be had between $30 and $45. Speakers depends on how much the person
is willing to spend but usually ranges from $50 to $100.
If the developer targets the low end PCs to have universal compatibility
what ends up happening is while all PCs may be able to run the app the
end users aren't buying a product as good as it could be, and the
product does not take advantage of the newer PCs. It also ends up
cutting the application short of what it could really do on a better system.
Like for example no one really expects Windows XP to be compiled for a
486 processor. If it did it would run much slower on Pentium IV
processors, have less graphics, etc.
However, when compiled for a Pentium II processor it runs well on that
kind of system and even better on better systems, because it can take
advantage of the better processor speed, have more animated graphics,
etc. In short we don't want people to be cheated out of taking every
advantage of the better and newer computers.
