Because he'd rather buy an X Box 360 bundle for full retail value from Game
Stop after it's released than save about $250 by pre-ordering.  Offering
pre-sale price breaks is not unusual at all.  As I said before, I think the
ESP games I wrote were all reasonably priced so maybe people just assumed
that they should just always, for their benefit, be one price and heck,
probably never even raised at all.

The reason preordering costs less is to give you a price break.  The game's 
normal price can be whatever, and the seller is merely giving a discount on 
the normal price.  Why should the price be lower if you do not preorder, in 
your opinion?
