-----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of kevin and emma Sent: Friday, January 13, 2006 6:48 AM To: [email protected] Subject: audyssey: moderator message final note on recent happenings. hi all, thank you to all of those who contacted me privately over the last couple of days. ok so what have i done. it doesn't matter whether your a member of the list, or a moderator, there are guidelines in place that covers everyone. being a moderator doesn't give you the right to ignore those guidelines. because of what happened, brenda has received a private warning from myself this morning. i will not be posting that warning on the list. if brenda wishes too, or to pass it on to other members privately, that's upto her. do not ask me to post it, i will not! but basically i advised her i thought putting private messages on a public list was wrong, no matter what the reason was, without prior consent of the original sender. i also advised her i thought her wording and general tone of message relating to james north only inflamed a tense situation and as a moderator she should have thought more carefully about it. she did not actually verbally abuse james or anyone else, hence she will remain unmoderated and as a moderator. she was advised though that a repeat of her conduct could result in me removing her as a moderator next time. i have also advised her to post an appology to the list for her recent postings. everyone has different ideas of what a moderator should and should not do. i personally think that a moderator should be allowed to voice an opinion, evenan unpopular one. however, they need to be careful when they do and how they do it. now hopefully we can move on.. monty will be released and those who doubted can then shut up, and those who held faith with james can look smug and say "i told you so". politely of course! while i'm here, one other note. steve walker unsubscribed last night. just to say, he'd have been removed and banned if he haden't for his verbal abuse of james north on the list. so far as i'm concerned now, this whole sorry affair is now closed so far as list discussion goes. i do not want any further posting on the topic. based on the messages i received, some wil agree with what i've done, some won't. that would be the case whatever i had decided.
