well all i can say is, well done list!! give yourselves a pat on the back,
and it's not even the end of the week yet. i hope those of you who have
assisted james' decision are proud of what you have done. if i was a
developer i'd quit this list immediately! and i am seriously now considering
quitting my moderation job. i spent almost 3 days this week sorting out a
problem on the list i wasn't even involved in. then 2 days later, i'm out
for the day with friends and family and i come back to more of what i've
just sorted out, and seem to be continually sorting out. frankly, i'm fed to
the back teeth with it! i would have thought folks would have at least given
james until tomorrow, but know they have to jump on his back today, even my
fellow moderator, whose already had a warning this week.
i am unclear these days why in fact we bother with moderators, as it seems
nothing we say has any authority and is continually ignored. so what choice
do i have? i either tighten up big style on the list guidelines to the point
were i get accused of being heavy handed or a control freak? throw several
members off the list and be accused of the same? or leave things be and
watch the list self-distruct, or finally hand the job to someone else for
them to find out just what a hard, thankless and frankly depressing job it
is running this list! you know i actually don't want to pick up my emails
these days because i'm almost guaranteed to find another problem on the
list? i'm not going to live like that!

i would post a message closing the topic of monty until it's release ....
funny thought i did a few days ago! .... but what's the point? the damage is
done already.

i will spend 48 hours considering my position and give my final decision by
midnight *my time* tuesday as too whether i'm staying or resigning as
co-owner and moderator. if you all want to discuss this on list, go ahead!
frankly at the minute i don't actually care! might give james north a break
if anything! smile. i can of course be contacted privately, email address is
below.
