Hi Sky, The quickest way to get to the hufflepuff common room from the start of the game. turn left at the front door, go forward through the broom cupboard. Turn right and then forward out of the cupboard. Make a left turn and go through the entrance hall until you hit the wall. Turn right and go down the stairs to the basement level. Wait for Dobby to give you the mirror then turn left and go forward. Turn right then go forward until you pass the giggling kitchen painting. Keep going straight but hit the left arrow and you will eventually go left back up to the ground level stairs. While on the stairs make a right turn which will bring you out very close to the caretaker's office. If he is in the office and if you listen very closely you will hear him. If he has left the office you will hear Sarah describing the bit of parchment paper that she sees in the office. If he is in you need to wait until you hear the door open and Filtch walk off. You should go forward until you hear the parchment described from your left. Then turn left and go forward inside the room. You should hear the cat hiss and it should be easy to pick up the parchment map. Hit the space bar to turn around and get out of there. Turn left and go past the secret entrance to the first floor and turn right past the suit of armor that is singing the Hogwarts song. Go straight on this corridor past the classroom with the crickets and straight through the staircase. Once you are past the stair turn right. You should go down another stair to the basement level. If you pass another suit of armor laughing you have gone too far and need to go back. Once you are in the basement turn left then right. At this point I hit tab to bring up the map in my inventory. Hit enter on the map and that will put the passwords into your list. now go forward until you are stopped automatically. You should hear the portrait breathing and the cork hissing. If you hit x you will get a greeting by the portrait. Now hit control tab to bring up the list of passwords and arrow down to Hilga which is the password, then hit enter on it. The portrait will say yes and open the door and you will automatically walk in. Once inside the door will close behind you. You should hear some cheering and a fireplace crackle quite a ways from you. You will also hear Sarah describe a magical object that is on the other side of the room. I will not tell what you find but you can hit x near the item to have it described. To get out, remember to hit control shift plus x to find where the door is. And you just need to hit the enter key near the hissing door to open it. If you do you should be back in the corridor near the breathing portrait. Hope these help.
