Sure, it's possible. You could write a word processor with Jaws scripts,
but it would hardly be the most eficient way to create the program. Once you
get into programming, to even a very small degree, you'll realize that no
programming language is inherently better than another. Each language was
written for a specific purpose, and as such, has it's own strengths and
weaknesses.
If you're interested in writing you're own text adventure, I'd recommend
using TADS, as it's specifically designed for just such a purpose, and is
far easier for somebody who has little real programming experience.
