You can just jump off the rope. However, it's not always at the very top of the rope where you have to jump off. Try a couple of creeks lower. This is extremely nifty. The full version is going to be frigging spectacular. A number of features seem to be disabled in the demo, but it's all playable. Patience and exparamentation are the keys to success.
