Hi, Shaun.
I was also surprised it was so buggy as well, but I also think I can
offer an explanation.
Number one James has way behind on schedule. I suspect the reason the
demo was late in coming as it has is the game has been buggy for quite
a while, and do to public demand he decided to give them what they want.
The screamed demo, and they got one in it's current state.
Second, is if you were in James's position of people yelling and
screaming electronic for this thing and he was so far behind it was
better to do what USA Games has always done give out a public release to
toy with while the full version is being perfected behind doors.
