Actually, particle physicist have teleported electrons across a room, I think this was done a couple of years ago. Though this is a far cry from teleporting human beings, it does show that at least one form of energy/matter can be teleported, though at this point not with much control. Another fascinating aspect of electrons is their ability to occupy two spaces at one time, something some would argue is a form of time travel. Beam me up Scotty...
