Joseph,
You can use the Jaws sleep mode. If you're playing a game with Jaws in the
sleep mode Jaws won't speak, but if you alt tab out of the window of the
game you're playing Jaws will start speaking in just a second and if you alt
tab back into the game window jaws will stop speaking again. Here are the
instructions to do this. Hope you can use this.
  Brian

To put Jaws in sleep mode when playing games

1. Open the game you want to apply the sleep mode to

2. Press insert plus the #6 ( This will bring up the configuration manager )

Listen closely and you should hear the name of the game. It might be an
abbreviated version of the game. Make sure that you don't hear the word
default

configuration manager

3. Press enter when you hear the name of the game ( remember it might be
abbreviated or sound some what different than the actual name of the game )

4. Press alt plus the letter S ( This will bring up settings )

5. Press the letter A ( This will bring up the advanced options )

6. Make sure sleep mode is enabled ( This means that it should be checked )

7. tab down to turn off speech synthesizer and make sure it's checked, (
This will be right below the sleep mode option )

8. Tab down to OK and hit the space bar

9. Press control plus the letter S ( This will save the settings

10. Press alt and the F4 key and you are done

>From now on when you open this game Jaws will stop speaking
