Personally, I think it would be better for you to keep plodding along,
and if you have some people who hack your games, well.. You can deal
with them.  I'm dealing with a situation like that righ tnow, and I know
there is a flaw here and there, but I just would never want to scrap a
whole years worth of work because of one small security whole.  Tom
thinks like I do which isn't a bad thing, but it's not worth setting
yourself back so long.

Yes, it is allot of money,. In some of the cases like the tools to 
encrypt the dotnet binary that would only have to be done once minus the

upgrades for it.
However, as for the application which processes the product keys that is

a redistributable product, and is based on licenses. The better your 
sales and the more games the higher the price is.
Obviously, if USA Games is selling the games it is affordable. If not 
then it isn't very practical.
