Hi,

Snip
"What concerns me far more than the merely cosmetic change in sound effects
is the increasingly likely prospect of the game play being changed to the
point where it can no longer be fairly called Montezuma's Revenge."
End Snip

Well, in actuality I haven't done any changes to game play. My goal is
the same as James North as far as keeping the original game play. What
has changed is I am over halling the special effects, and that is an
area I really enjoy working on. The maps and temple layouts will also be
pretty close to the original Montezuma's Revenge. I guess I have not
clearly stated my own intentions here either.
Esentually, my goal with Monty is to keep the layout, game play,
scoring, enemies, etc from the original game. A male or female
character will have no effect eitherway of the actual game play which is
sticking to the Arcade classic.
What is changing is I am working on some of the effects for the game.
One of my hobbies in my free time is sound engineering and design. I am
adding more spooky windy ambience to the temples. I am working on
getting improved footstep effects. right now allot of it is sound
engineering which doesn't effect game play what-so-ever, but may aid in
making the player feel like he/she is there in that temple. Mostly the
only TR-like stuff I have done is the female character, and the temples
sort of sound like a TR game, but are uniquely, made for this game.
I am also working on other small changes in the engine, and getting
ready to work on a ff joystick module for the game. it is changes like
that I am working on.
