Hi Richard,
I also am not a fan of Visual Basic. I started out writing in C++, but
have found C# .NET is actually much easier and looks quite a bit like
C++. Why use C# .NET over C++?
With C# .NET you can access the DirectX libraries directly, and the code
isn't as picky as C++. I also like the C# style classes.
However, C++ is the gaming industry standard, and is really good for
many reasons as well. Most documentation is in C++, you don't have to
worry about .NET MSIL, and you will find better proformence. Although,
C# .NET offers some better type safeties, and better arrays. I am
falling in love with the way C# .NET handles array types.
