Larry
The cause is indeed rust.
This is a 1989

Chevy s10 with 213,000 miles on it.
I like the truck and it is very reliable so I want to keep it on the road
for as long as I can but on the other hand it is really not worth putting a
lot of money or expence into it since it is neither low milage or young in
age and will probably never be worth a dime as far as a collector.
Is there any chance I might be able to squeeze one more year or so out of
this floor?

I will get under there and see just how far out the weakend metal fans out
on the floor board and we can go from there.
Thanks
