Hi Jennifer, we still use the old fashioned pull down sticky tapes which our grand parents used. put a tack in the ceiling and pull down carefully . end of season just dump the many dead flies into the trash. with childrean and yes some adults keep all food, in cluding open fruits put away and open soda and beer bottles. been there and done that. I'd also like to say how thick the flies have been this year in a overhead 48 inch light cover. doesn't bother me but I take id down every other week and rinse it off in the shower after the dead flies hit the trash can.Lee
