well bearing in mind the workings of a digital readout display, there are  
several types with several formats of projection, colouring, etc so the  
information could be shown on different lines so the optical scanner point 
would  
have to refresh at 25.5 frames per second. therefore the system has to handle  
that with a converter from optical to data to speach. therefore the data chain  
of events has to be tight locked and calibrated. I can see many problems with  
this lkind of device. as an example I have a planer thicknesser with a 
computer  controlled rise and fall table and the LCD  will show multiple 
information.  as each LCD or  LED screen is a differing size it remains a 
problem for any 
 manufacturer.
