I agree, I have done allot of this video transfer, in the last year are so.
Have used the computer and I broke down and bought a stand alone DVD
recorder, The stand alone recorder is bye far the way too go. Makes video
transfer so much easier. Don

Yes go to circuit city and ask for a video capture device. Unfortunately
the software involved isn't overly screen reader friendly at all. I know
because we bought such an animal last year. After that we just picked up a
  stand alone DVD burner.

I believe that tomorrow is another day, and I'll probably screw that one up
  too.

  Subject: [BlindHandyMan] camcorder to dvd

  Hi,
Does anyone know hat computer hardware/software is needed to make a dvd from
a camcorder that only has av cables?
My daughter just purchased a Panasonic gs29 camcorder. It uses mini dv tapes
and the only output is the av cable with the red, white and yellow
  connectors.
She would like to use my computer to convert the tapes to dvd. I don't think
that she would want to do any editing so software that is jaws friendly
  would be a great plus.
  Thanks
