Clifford my question about the over head light has more to do with the wires coming to the light ficture itself.. I had some of those spiral type long lasting florsent bulbs that had attracted a lot of ladie bugs. 2 of them were burned out when I checked it out. What had happend was I smelled what I thought smelled like a curling iron and after sniffing around for a while I was in the kitchen and I heard what sounded like a terible short from the light. I turned off the switch and let things cool down because although not to hot to touch it was warm. Well any way with the switch off and the braker still on I checked out the wires and did not get a shock. My wife thinks that if the wires had been bare from the insalation being burned off I would have gotten a shock. So is she correct Also When those type of bulbs go bad do they tend to go out kicking and screeming like that. Or do I more likely have a problem.
Against my better judgment I did turn on that light after taking out the 2 bad bulbs and leaving in the 2 good bulbs and a lot of hounding from my wife that we should try it and see what happens. As far as I can tell the wires still look good.
