Phil, I'm not sure which player you have and its been a while since I had one. However, I think the modle I'm thinking of was made by Panosonic perhaps. In any even these had raised tactile markings which were failrly large. The unit only played cassettes, no recording ability, jacks were on the right side with the quarter-inch headset jack in the furtherest from the front, had a slide-out handle, and a logo on the speaker grill left-side of the unit near the rear. In any case if this is one of those modles, you actually can pop off a little cover that is over the heads. If we're taling about the same unit, between the cassette door and controls, there is a cover that has two little notched areas left and right side which you can insert a small screw driver and pry off. You can access teh heads from this point and give them a fairly good cleaning. If we're talking about different modles, well sorry the info wasn't helpful.
