Dale, Although I agree that this is all pretty bogus. Are you sure that todays phones don't alter their output power based on proximity to towers? This would definitely be an energy saving strategy for those tiny little batteries.
Also, the other thing people keep forgetting to mention is that microwaves heat up water because they vibrate at the same frequency as water molecules. So, much variation from 2.4 GHz and water don't heat up. I think the bands for cell is something like 900 1800 and 1900 MHz. So I am not sure that radiation in those bands would actually cause tissue damage due to excessive heating.
