The nursery itself is about 10 feet from the sound system. By the time we
go under the floor and up the wall I'm figuring a 25 foot cord will be
plenty.

After reading responses to my earlier post and talking to some folks I'm
thinking we'll find a used speaker of some sort and will be fine. One of my
concerns was whether components from a home stereo system are compatible
with a sound system. My understanding now is that as long as the wattage
from the amp on our sound system doesn't blow the speaker we will be fine
with whatever speaker we use.

Thanks for the help.

Ralph

I may be way to "amateur' on this addition of a small speaker
system, but how about a decent set of powered speakers as
intended for computer use. The cheaper ones get down to $15.00 or
so, but those sound like crud, probably something in the twenties
or thirties would do pretty well and give you volume and probably
tone controls.

If there is a line out on the board, all you need is the correct
extension cables/adaptors.

Did Ralph say how far the cables have to go? that could relate to
possible hum problems.
