Something I always thought about trying is the electric caulking gun. It is a device that you use an electric drill to force the caulk out of the tube. I thought that if I would lock the drill speed to a very slow push I would be able to figure out how fast to move the tip along the window. Later I may purchase one of these things and some very cheap caulk to try and master. At this time I cheat, either use rope caulk or have my son-in-law do it for me. I like sylacone calk in a tube, the fingertip seems to be the perfect shape for some jobs. Otherwise I'm sure there are tiny specific trowels for it.
