Dale, I really don't think putting any kind of gunk between the PVC Pipe and the hose is a good idea. These hoses can get a leak at any time. Once there is a leak, you'd have to replace the hose. The new hose would need a nice clean and smooth surface in order to prevent leakage. Teflon tape is all they recommend . One of these days, I'm going to get rid of all the hoses, and hard pipe it with PVC pipe.
