I have a 1990 Jimmy that I have been parting out to keep my s10 on the road.
Well I have decided to pull the engine. I don't Think I will ever need it
for the s10 and I am not sure what I am going to do with it when I pull it.
As some of you well know the 4.3 engines are very abundant at least up here.
So the reason I am pulling it is I have never pulled an engine before and I
want to have the satisfaction of having done it all myself.
All that is left to do is to take off the lines to the power stearing and
the fuel lines and unbolt the motor mounts and the exaust system.and finally
to disconnect the drive shaft. I am going to pull the tranny out with the
engine. I see no reason to pull the tranny before I pull the engine.
I have removed every thing up front So I can pull it straight out.I have the
radiator and the airconditioneing condenser and the radiator support out of
the way and While I was at it I went ahead and removed the entire wiring
harness. And No I did not cheet and cut the wires. I removed it completely
in tact. I gave it to my mechanic. He said he can always use some of the
connecters.
I only work on it for a half hour here and an hour there so I hope to have
it out some time in July.
The only help I will have is a friend will help me with the actual job of
hoisting it out. I have never used a Cherry picker before and it belongs to
him so I will let him help me with that. So when I am done I can say that I
basically pulled an engine myself.

If I get stuck I will let you all know so you can help me out.
Robert

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Shows this week.

Thursday we recorded our two hundredth blind handyman show with little fan
fair or pretension. We had several scenarios for making it a special
occasion but our friend Tom Houston could not attend so we just did the
show. Dale Campbell helped out and our guest was our own Dan Rossi. Dan told
the story of moving the four hundred pound radiator down the basement stairs
with out injury to anyone or their house.
This week on blind like me the guest included another list member. Her name
is Patty and She lives up in Illinois, but Her biggest clame to fame is
being Jeremy's Mother. Also a girl from Leavenworth Kansas, Kelly Stanfield
made a full hour of interviews.
Those of you who are long time listeners no, we take a month off from doing
new shows each summer. This year because of some medical problems and just
because we want to, we are taking seven weeks off. Our tentative return date
is the last weekend in July but that is subject to change. Until then we
hope you enjoy some shows from the archives.
Below are lengths to listen or just download the shows.
