Hey I sure know where you are coming from. Barbara [EMAIL PROTECTED] ----- Original Message ----- From: Dale Leavens To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, June 14, 2007 6:38 PM Subject: Re: [BlindHandyMan] Freezer Question
Hi Barbara, It is time for service. It is either leaking refrigerant, has a bad thermostat or maybe the compressor needs service. They don't actually service the compressor it is a sealed unit, it is replaces\d. There may be a computer module not working, they probably had computers by then our refrigerator is 1987 vintage and it has a computer. Odd thing is that there is a sensor switch for the light but it is not directly connected to the light, it senses the door open. The light won't go out when the door is closed and the only answer was to remove the bulb or replace the computer. I couldn't discover any way to remind the computer to turn off the light when the door is closed and with two blind people in the house it doesn't seem all that important. Typical really, I could never convince the kids to turn their lights out when they left their rooms either. Just goes to show that the average kid is about as intelligent as a fridge I suppose. I can hear the compressor stay on a little bit, but then it just will not cool. I had some free-on put in it about a year ago, and it seem to work for a while, but I would like to know what other possibilities may cause this. I think this is a Whirlpool and frost-vree approximately 19.6 cubic feet. Also, I have had this particular freezer since 1999. Input really appreciated and sure do like this list. Everyone have a good evening.
