How long have you had it? Have you ever tried changing the battery?
I had my tape for several years until I cropped it and snapped the end of the
tape off. I tried to fix it and had a dickens of a time so I sent it over the
pond and had it repaired. I believe that they actually replaced it. Since I
got it back I get minus readings, measurements of 212000 inches and sometimes
it switches to cintimeters instead of inches. Frustrating but as it has to be
repaired over there, I have just tried to make it do for major projects and use
my old trusty dusty braille tape. I need to shop around for a new case for my
braille tape as I don't have the lock on mine.
I have another 6 foot braille tape but it has a couple breaks in the tape but I
can't find just a simple tape measure that doesn't have that 6 inch measuring
device hanging on the front which makes it hard to tuck it in my pocket.
Shouldn't have ever dropped my talking one I guess.
Anyway, check the battery and like someone wrote, take the battery out between
uses.
