This might sound a bit extreme and it is only a theary because I have never
done it or even heard of it before but one thing you might want to check out
to see if it will work is to get a shower head filter and get a threaded
pipe that the shower head filter will thread onto. Then take the other end
of the pipe and I imagine that the pipe will insert inside the hose.if the
pipe will indeed fit inside the garden hoes then just cut off the output end
of the hose, slide the pipe in and clamp it down with a standard hose clamp.
If you try this hair brained idea let me know if it works. In the mean wile
I will do some checking around.
To see if there is a prodict that will work out of the box.

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Water filters

All:

My wife and I own a very nice cat who has recently been diagnosed with
crystals in his urinary tract. One of the ways you're supposed to treat this
condition, is to provide filtered water. We have three dogs also who have
their primary water station on a porch. What I'd like to do is attach a
filter, something like a Britta, to the hose bib on the porch, since the cat
does occasionally drink from the dogs' water bowl. I know these are
available in models which attach to a kitchen faucet, but presumably,
they're threaded differently than a common garden hose thread. Are any of
you folks aware of a filter specifically for a hose bib, or, how hard would
it be to find an adapter from garden hose to faucet fitting.
