Jennifer, I would also be careful about the type of neighborhood you are moving into. How close might you be to a bad area?
Also, if you're house is the most expensive house in the area you will probably not make as much profit from it as if it were a little lower in cost. And some people check to see if there are any registered sex offenders on their street. Awful to think about, but with children or young teen-agers you can't be too careful.
