I don't know about a combo unit to hang on the wall, but I recently purchased a
little flat screen television that can be used for tv or computer monitor. It
is light enough to carry in one hand, can be set on the stand that came with it
or hung on a wall. It has jacks for connecting other devices. So, why not get
a nice receiver with audio input, the small television with audio output, a
universal remote to operate both units, and there you have it.
The tv I purchased is a Polaroid, 17 inch, and they say the picture is very
clear. It has speakers on either side and they sound good to me, but then I
don't have the high quality hearing of some folks. Oh, and yes, it is cable
ready and I can hook up a DVd, VCR, Game cubes or anything else, including the
computer. I intended to use it with my computer and to watch it as a tv, but I
gave it to the wife for her get away room, so never hooked the computer to it.

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Good television/radio combo question.

This is marginally a handyman question however this is a very diverse group
and likely to have someone who knows.

I recently build a television console type cabinet for our bedroom, the old
TV in it is getting very sick though and I am looking to find something a
little smaller. Those new flat screen models are promising, I don't want a very
big one, probably under 20 inches but I would also really like decent quality
sound and I would really like a decent stereo FM receiver and access to
satellite reception. A remote control too.

Is anyone aware of a cable ready television/fm receiver with rockin sound
suitable for hanging on the wall?

  Thanks.
