ray sent a message about painting outdoor items. We have two fir doors that have taken a beating from the weather the past couple of years and need refinishing. Is it okay to put oil based verithane over the old coating of protection even if it isn't oil based verithane? I'm not sure what was on there and I don't want to make the doors any less protected by putting something on the doors that is going to rebel against what is already on the door.
